Triple Richmond premiership ruckman Toby Nankervis again showed what a football warrior he is with his performance against Melbourne in last night’s Anzac Day eve clash at the MCG.
Opposed to dynamic Demons big man Max Gawn, who has been in brilliant early-season form, Nankervis more than held his own with his robust efforts around the ground right throughout the four quarters.
He finished the match with 22 disposals, a team-high seven clearances, team-high five stoppage clearances, five inside-50s, three rebound-50s, four tackles, 15 hit-outs and a team-high nine one-percenters.
It was the third consecutive game that Nankervis has had more than 20 disposals (22 in all three). And, after six rounds this season, he is the Tigers’ No. 1 ranked player for stoppage clearances.
