Richmond half-forward Chris Knights has set his sights on Round 1 of the 2014 season, as he continues his recovery from a torn patella tendon injury.
Six months after undergoing surgery to his knee, the 27-year-old is on the verge of joining the main training group.
“The plan of attack is next week I’ll start getting filtered through to the main group,” Knights told Roar Vision.
“I’ll probably start off doing a warm up, and then some skills, and I’ll keep progressing after that.
“I’m feeling fairly strong. I’m able to run and do most things now. It’s all about being able to join the main group with strength and confidence in my leg.

It’s been a long and challenging road back for Knights, who made an encouraging start to his career with Richmond early in 2013, after crossing from Adelaide in the off-season.
He played five games, kicked six goals and averaged 17 disposals, before injury struck in Round 7 against Port Adelaide.
Countless hours in the rehab group ensued, as he slowly worked his way back to full fitness.
“It’s quite challenging, but we try to keep it quite team orientated. The rehab group try to get around each other. We have lunches, and catch up socially,” Knights said.
“You do feel a little bit segregated from the main group, and not a part of it sometimes, because you see them training hard together, and you just want to be out there. That’s what footy is about.
“Unfortunately, being injured is part of football as well, so you have to make sure you’re setting a good example, and enjoy the process as much as you can.”
