Dustin Martin was the only Tiger to feature in the AFL Coaches Association’s Player of the Year award voting for Round 12.
The dynamic midfielder received seven votes for his top-class display in Richmond’s 20-point loss to West Coast at the MCG last Friday night.
He almost single-handedly kept the Tigers in the contest during the first half through his ability to take the game on and make things happen.
Assistant coach Mark ‘Wilbur’ Williams paid special tribute to Martin on the Club’s post-game podcast ‘The Richmond Review’.
“He’s a gun . . . he was outstanding, Williams said.
“He had 31 possessions, kicked three goals, had two goal assists, so he’s had a hand in five goals, and his contested stuff was pretty good.
“He’s taken his game to the next level . . .”
