Geelong vs Brisbane
GEELONG by 45
By beating the Bulldogs and the Giants in successive rounds, the Cats have taken a couple of huge steps in playing finals footy. Brisbane has now gone nine games without a win, and Geelong should extend the Lions’ pain and increase that streak to 10.

Collingwood vs Melbourne
COLLINGWOOD by 35
This game has come at a great time for the Pies. They might’ve lost five in a row, but they’ve played the form sides and displayed good football without getting over the line. Melbourne, on the other hand, lowered their colours to the Saints last week, and this one looks too tough for them. Collingwood should manage to steady the ship and set themselves for a last-gasp tilt at finals.

Port Adelaide vs St Kilda
PORT ADELAIDE by 29
The Power chance to play finals are slim, though it’s still mathematically possible. If they’re to retain any hope of September footy, they must notch up another win this weekend, after accounting for the Bombers last round. Standing in their way are the Saints, who have developed nicely over the year. Despite this, St Kilda is yet to win at Adelaide Oval, and don’t look likely to break their duck this time around.

Essendon vs Western Bulldogs
WESTERN BULLDOGS by 20
The Bombers have won their last six games against the Bulldogs, but that run might well be under threat this weekend. The Dogs proved their mettle last week against Collingwood, and will be looking to cement their place in the eight with another win. The Bulldogs will be too slick here and should account for the Bombers.
