Exciting Richmond Next Generation Academy prospect, Manny Laulu turned heads last weekend with a standout display for the Shepparton District Junior Football League’s (SDJFL) representative team.
Playing against the best U/14 talent in the Goulburn Campaspe region, Laulu was named as the overall player of the carnival.
The athletic midfielder, who has Samoan parents, stoodout with his silky skills, raw power and enormous leap.

Laulu is making a knack of performing at representative level after he was also adjudged best afield playing for the Tigers’ Academy against the Hawthorn Academy as a bottom-aged player last year.
At club level, playing for the Shepparton Swans, the exciting junior has kicked 18 goals from five games with three mentions among the team’s best.
Kydan Atkinson was another NGA Tiger to standout at the Goulburn Campaspe interleague carnival, being named the SDJFL’s best player in the U/16s age group.
Atkinson, a high-possession winning midfielder, is having a terrific season at Mooroopna having been named in the best every game this season.
The Indigenous youngster was also selected in the Flying Boomerangs squad as part of the AFL’s National Under 15s program.
Richmond’s NGA Zones include AFL Central, Central Murray, Goulburn Murray, North East Border, Sunraysia and Wimmera Mallee which are the Murray Bushrangers and Bendigo Pioneers catchments.
