Two-time Richmond premiership star Daniel Rioli welcomed a very special guest to his home community in the Tiwi Islands this week.
The 2019 premiership cup landed in Pirlangimpi, a community on Melville Island on Tuesday, and began making its way around the town with Rioli and his family.
From fishing in the Apsley Strait, to visiting the grave of his great uncle Maurice Rioli, Rioli said bringing the cup back to his community was on his "bucket list" of dreams to fulfil.
“It was so good. I missed the 2017 one — I didn’t get the chance to bring it up, because I had no idea of the process of how to get it over here,” he said.
“When we won this year, it was always on my bucket list to make sure we brought it over. We've got that ticked off. Just walking around the community and showing it off was such a good feeling.
“It was pretty special.”
