Richmond has completed a trade with Fremantle today that will see selections 10, 11, and 18 overall at next month’s Telstra AFL Draft arrive at the Swinburne Centre.

In exchange, Shai Bolton has departed Richmond after 135 games and eight seasons, as has selection No. 14 overall, which was acquired in the Liam Baker trade, and a future third-round pick.

The three additional first-round selections give Richmond a haul of six selections inside the first 24 of next month's Telstra AFL Draft.

Richmond General Manager, Football Talent, Blair Hartley, said he felt the Club had been adequately compensated for Bolton, who wanted to return home to Perth for family reasons.

“We completely understand Shai’s reasons for requesting a trade to Fremantle, but importantly needed to find a suitable trade that was of benefit to Richmond,” Hartley said.

“We are delighted to have significantly improved our Draft hand ahead of next month’s Draft.”

Bolton will be best remembered for his role in the 2019 and 2020 premierships and his All Australian season in 2022.

The West Australian booted 165 goals for the Club.

Hartley thanked Bolton for his efforts across eight years at Richmond.

“Shai departs a two-time premiership player and a key part of our period of success. He certainly had a profound impact during his time at Richmond,” he said.

“We wish Shai and his young family all the best for their future in Perth."

Richmond’s current draft hand for November’s Telstra AFL Draft is 1,10,11, 18, 20, 24, 51, 61, 70 and 76.
