Richmond is pleased to announce that Rhy Gieschen will join the Club’s List and Recruiting team as Victorian Recruiting Manager.
Gieschen arrives with extensive experience in the AFL industry, having held talent and operation roles at the AFL, AFL Victoria, and as Talent Manager of the Northern Knights (NAB League).
Most recently, Gieschen was the Director of Football and First XVIII Football Coach at Melbourne Grammar School, and Partnerships Lead for the Tackle Your Feelings program at the AFL Coaches Association.
Melbourne Grammar has been a successful program in the Associated Public Schools (APS) competition, producing a raft of first-round draft picks in recent seasons.
Richmond National Recruiting Manager Matt Clarke said Gieschen would be a welcome addition to the football department.
“We are delighted to have Rhy on board as our Victorian Recruiting Manager,” he added.
“Rhy has excellent experience in the football industry, particularly in the Victorian talent pathways. We look forward to having his skill set as part of our list and recruiting team.”
Gieschen will commence in the role in the coming weeks, in time for the beginning of the football season.
Richmond’s 2021 draft haul of five selections inside the top 30 included four players Josh Gibcus (GWV Rebels), Tom Brown (Murray Bushrangers), Tyler Sonsie (Eastern Rangers), and Judson Clarke (Dandenong Stingrays) from the Victorian talent pathway.
