Bachar Houli Foundation participants and staff recently returned from a memorable trip to Abu Dhabi and Dubai for the 2023 Elite Performance Camp. 

The eight-day program aims to develop the players both on and off the field and prepare them for the future, the week away entailing a mix of football training and leadership sessions amongst other activities.

Day 1

After an exciting lead-up and long flight, the Bachar Houli Foundation's Elite Performance Camp 2023 was officially underway! Participants had a light session in the morning followed by team bonding and setting personal expectations for the trip. The day finished off with a visit to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.

Day 2

A high-intensity training session was on the agenda for Day 2 in Abu Dhabi, before the group enjoyed an evening on the go-kart track.

Day 3

Day 3 of the Camp was comprised of more tough track-work, as well as a leadership session which included AFL draft interview preparation, and a highly-anticipated trip to the sand dunes. 

Day 4

A visit to the Victoria International School of Sharjah was in store on Day 4, where participants had the opportunity to run a clinic for students. 

Day 5

The camp's first full day in Dubai saw participants take part in an Ironman challenge on the beach, testing them both mentally and physically. 

Day 6

Preparations continue for Saturday's match against AFL Middle East with another solid session in the books. 

Day 7

A light training session was on the agenda to tune-up ahead of the next day's game, the group excited to finish off the camp strongly. 

Day 8

Game day and the final day of the Elite Performance Camp. A fun-filled morning running an Auskick clinic with the local community, followed by a win against AFL Middle East to remain undefeated in both Australia and overseas. After some recovery and lunch, it was home time!
