Richmond AFLW key forward Courtney Wakefield is proud of her team's four-quarter effort in Sunday's two-point Dreamtime win over Essendon at ETU Stadium.
After being overrun in the final quarter of their opening two rounds, the Tigers remained calm and composed as they held off the Bombers in a thrilling finish.
"It was nerve-wrecking, we knew if we could get the ball down in our forward line, the message was to lock it in," Wakefield said.
"I thought our forwards, our midfielders and then our defenders setting up behind attack, did that really well and that was a proud effort."
"Those first two losses obviously hurt, we led for three-and-a-half quarters in both of those matches, so to have those two wins now on the board is good.
"We knew Essendon was going to come out firing after a really big win last week against West Coast, but the challenge for us was to take it to them with our intensity and ferocity and hunt, and I thought we brought that."
The veteran Tiger is showing no signs of slowing down, having already kicked five goals in the opening four rounds of the season, including Richmond's first two in Sunday's game to get the ball rolling for her side.
"I never come out with a set total of goals to kick, there are other parts of my game that I really value, but it's always nice to get a couple," she said.
The 35-year-old said it was "incredibly special" for the Tigers to play in the first ever AFLW Dreamtime game.
"Not only the win, but to acknowledge Indigenous round and the game we played and the guernsey we got to play in and everything associated with that," she said.
"It was a real honour."

Wakefield lauded star midfielder Monique Conti's impact on the game and craft in front of goals, having now kicked three majors in the last two games.
"She's pretty impressive," Wakefield said.
"Our midfielders work incredibly hard and Mon leads from the front in both directions. For her to get on the end of a couple last week and one this week, I'm really proud of her."
Wakefield said the Tigers were "up for the challenge" against a fit and firing Brisbane outfit on Saturday in Round 5.
"They've set the tone early as the strong team in the competition," she said.
"There's no place like home at Punt Road... We're excited."
