Emelia Yassir was selected by the Tigers with pick No. 16 in the 2021 AFLW Draft. The dangerous forward/midfielder is a fierce competitor who brings elite foot skills, footy smarts and defensive pressure. The 21-year-old was awarded Richmond’s best first-year player following the 2022 summer season and has now played 40 games at AFLW level. Yassir has shown an ability to pop up in big moments, booting the winning goal in a match against the Suns in Season 7, as well as go-ahead goals in the final term against West Coast and Geelong this year. The youngster also kicked two goals in the Club’s only home AFLW final to date and three on the MCG in a practice match against Hawthorn. Yassir finished 10th in Richmond’s 2023 AFLW best and fairest.
