Richmond key forward, Ben Griffiths has committed to the Club for a further two years.
Griffiths put pen to paper on a new two-year contract that will see him remain at Tigerland until at least the end of 2018.
The tall forward was drafted to Richmond in the 2009 National Draft and has played 61 senior matches for the Club, and kicked 42 goals.
He was instrumental in the Tigers’ one-point win after the siren over the Sydney Swans in Round 8 this season, booting a career-high five goals in a best on ground performance.
With some minor ankle and groin injuries limiting him to 13 games this season, the 24-year-old managed to kick 14 goals and often showed his athleticism and marking abilities.
Richmond’s General Manager of Football, Dan Richardson, said Griffiths will build on the good progress he’s made this season.
“Ben has all the attributes of a powerful key forward, and we’ve seen how valuable he can be in some of his performances this season,” Richardson said.
“We’re looking forward to Ben taking his game to another level next season and beyond.”
Griffiths joins a number of Tigers to re-sign with Shaun Hampson, Sam Lloyd, Oleg Markov, David Astbury, Shaun Grigg and Bachar Houli all extending their tenure at Richmond in recent weeks.
