Richmond has extended the contracts of midfielder Anthony Miles and key defender Todd Elton until at least the end of the 2017 season.
Miles, who has been a revelation in the Tigers’ midfield since crossing from Greater Western Sydney at the end of the 2013 season, was due to come out of contract at the end of 2016.
However, the Club has moved to extend the 23-year-old’s stay at Tigerland by a further year.
Elton, playing his fourth season at Richmond, has signed a two-year contract extension.
Miles has been a mainstay in the Tiger line-up since being upgraded from the rookie list midway through the 2014 season.
He played in the last 13 games of last season, averaging 24 disposals, four tackles and 6.5 clearances per game.
He has played every match so far in the 2015 season, maintaining the same high standard of performance in the midfield.
Elton has played two senior matches in his career to date, the latest in Round 7 against Collingwood, earlier this season.
He has recently been groomed as a key defender, and has showed promising signs in that position.
Richmond has recently locked away bookends Jack Riewoldt and Alex Rance to long-term contract extensions.
