Richmond has selected Northern Knights key forward Reece McKenzie with its fifth pick (selection 77) in the 2014 National Draft.
The 18-year-old is the son of former Carlton premiership player Warren McKenzie, and made a name for himself as an outstanding contested mark at TAC Cup level.
In 10 appearances for the Knights, he kicked 35 goals (third in the competition).
Although weighing in at 107kg, McKenzie proved his running ability at the AFL Combine, running 2.87 seconds for the 20-metre sprint (ranked equal second).
“Reece is a power forward who is very hard to defend against, with his bulk and athleticism,” said Richmond Recruiting Manager Francis Jackson.

“He has speed on the lead, an excellent vertical leap when he jumps at the footy, and vice-like hands in the marking contest.
“He kicked some big bags of goals during the season, including a 10-goal game at TAC Cup level and a 16-goal game for Marcellin at school level.”
