Grimes, who played five of the first six games this season in the seniors, is back, after a two-week spell in Richmond’s VFL side, where he displayed some encouraging form.
Dea also has impressed at VFL level over the past couple of weeks, after recovering from a hand injury.
The injury-plagued, 22-year-old hasn’t played in the seniors with Richmond since Round 15 last year.
Thomas, who joined the Tigers from Port Adelaide at the end of last year, played in the opening five rounds this season, before suffering a knee injury.
He returned via the VFL last weekend and was one of Richmond’s best players, racking up more than 30 possessions.
Grimes, Dea and Thomas replace David Astbury, who has undergone surgery for a dislocated kneecap suffered in last Saturday’s match against Melbourne at the MCG, Nick Vlastuin, who has a broken finger, and Sam Lloyd, who has been omitted.
The three emergencies for Richmond’s Round 10 team are Lloyd, Ricky Petterd and Anthony Miles.
