Richmond has beefed up its recruiting department with the appointment of former Geelong talent scout Luke Williams.
The highly-regarded, experienced Williams has come on board at Tigerland as a Recruiting Officer.
Williams spent 14 years at Geelong in a variety of football department positions, including forward scouting and recruiting.
He was the right-hand man of Geelong’s renowned recruiting boss Stephen Wells throughout much of his time with Cats, before departing Simonds Stadium earlier this year and joining Carlton. But Williams left the Blues just before the AFL National Draft in November.
“Luke brings a wealth of recruiting experience and know-how with him,” said Richmond’s General Manager of Football, Dan Richardson.
“We had been looking for a while at bolstering our recruiting resources and, when someone of Luke’s calibre became available, we were very keen to secure his services.
“It was great that come on board to pursue the next phase of his career.”
Williams will work closely with Richmond’s Recruiting Manager Francis Jackson, Recruiting Officers Matthew Clarke and Richard Taylor, and the Club’s General Manager of Player Personnel and List Management Blair Hartley.
