Richmond’s star spearhead Jack Riewoldt will be striving extra hard to prove his fitness on the training track this week, ahead of Sunday’s Round 22 match against Greater Western Sydney at Skoda Stadium.

Riewoldt, who hyperextended his right knee, when he landed awkwardly in a marking contest during the final quarter of last Saturday’s clash with Carlton, will reach the 100-consecutive games’ milestone, if he lines up against GWS.

The dual Coleman Medallist has been cleared of any structural damage, but will need to complete training throughout the week in order to take his place in the side.

He hasn’t missed a match since Round 10 of the 2009 season and, in his 99 games in-a-row, has booted 286 goals, at an average of just under three goals per game.  All-up, Riewoldt has played 132 games and scored 318 goals.

Riewoldt’s Tiger teammate, Brett Deledio, is the league’s current consecutive games record-holder, with 135.

Deledio hasn’t missed a game since Round 18, 2007.

Richmond’s No. 1 pick from the 2010 AFL National Draft, Reece Conca, is scheduled to play his 50th league game, against GWS on Sunday.
