Cotchin polled six votes for his 25-disposal performance in the wet against Greater Western Sydney last Saturday, to take his season’s tally in the coaches award to 54, which is just one behind equal leaders Matthew Boyd (Western Bulldogs) and Scott Pendlebury (Collingwood).
Other Tiger vote-getters in the Round 12 clash were Shane Edwards, with six, Brett Deledio, with four, and Shane Tuck, with two.
Cotchin’s odds for this year’s Brownlow Medal have also tightened considerably in recent weeks, and he is now one of the top fancies for the game’s esteemed individual award.
The Tigers’ vice-captain polled 15 votes in the 2011 Brownlow, in a side which won eight and a half games.
After 12 rounds this season, Cotchin is averaging 26.4 disposals per game. He is ranked seventh in the competition for total disposals and fourth for inside-50 entries.
To further highlight his effectiveness, the talented 22-year-old has also booted 12 goals.
