With its message of “Be Kind”, Dolly’s Dream is Richmond AFLW’s preferred charity partner.

The new partnership is an extension of Richmond Football Club’s long-standing relationship as the preferred charity partner of national children’s charity, the Alannah & Madeline Foundation, which supports Dolly’s Dream.

Dolly’s Dream was established by Northern Territory couple Kate and Tick Everett in 2018, after their 14-year-old daughter Dolly took her own life following sustained and ongoing bullying. They were determined that no other family would suffer as they did.

Dolly’s Dream educates communities about bullying issues and advocates for bullying laws and regulations. It also works to change cultures.

The Everetts chose the Alannah & Madeline Foundation to support Dolly’s Dream. With its extensive experience working with children and families who have experienced bullying and cyber bullying, the Foundation offers expert voices around bullying education, cultural change and child protection all informed by evidence-based and best practice methodologies.

Richmond’s CEO Brendon Gale was proud to extend the partnership.

“It has been a privilege to have such a long standing relationship with the Alannah and Madeline Foundation and to now extend our partnership with our AFLW team to include Dolly’s Dream means we have the opportunity to provide more children with much needed support and protection. We look forward to working with Tick and Kate to spread the “Be Kind” message.”

Tick and Kate said they were thrilled to partner with Richmond AFLW for 2020. 

“We know this partnership will help raise awareness of the devastating effects of bullying and cyberbullying,” they said.  “With the wonderful Richmond AFLW players, these messages will also help to create a kinder world.”
