For the third consecutive year, Richmond has surpassed 70,000 members and the celebration coincided with a special birthday on Thursday.

Mavis Blake, a 71-year continuous Richmond member, celebrated her 90th birthday at the Swinburne Centre, Punt Road Oval, where players sung her happy birthday and presented her with a cake. 

She recalled stories of her many years as a Richmond member, before giving the players a pep talk ahead of their clash against Sydney at the MCG this Saturday. 

Mavis and her remaining siblings, Lois (73 years continuous membership), Len (68 years continuous membership) and Sylvia (58 years continuous membership) have over 270 years of membership service between them.
