Richmond livewire forward Jake King will miss the final two games of the 2012 home-and-away season with a fractured toe.

King sustained the injury during the Tigers’ 22-point loss to Fremantle at Patersons Stadium last Saturday.

“Jake presented to recovery on Sunday with pain in his foot and a scan showed a fracture in his toe,” said Richmond’s Elite Performance Manager Matt Hornsby.
“He had surgery this morning to repair the fracture and will miss the last two games.”
Meanwhile, promising key defender Ben Griffiths has been ruled out of this Friday night’s clash with Essendon due to concussion.

Griffiths landed heavily in the second quarter of last Saturday’s clash with the Dockers and left the field on a stretcher.

He was taken to hospital for precautionary scans, and later released to join his team-mates on their return trip to Melbourne.

He is expected to be available for Richmond’s Round 23 match against Port Adelaide on Sunday, September 2.

Fellow defender Jake Batchelor is available for selection this week after getting through his return match with Coburg in the VFL on Saturday, following a knee injury.

Richmond’s injury list (at August 20):
Matt Arnot (hamstring) test
Ben Griffiths (concussion) 1 week
Jake King (foot) season
Reece Conca (foot) season
Jeromey Webberley (groin) season
Dylan Grimes (hamstring) season
